Hey all, a quick note about two things you might be interested in. One, we need your stories; and two, Jody is hosting a fun show in NYC in a couple weeks!
Your Summer History Stories
As you may have heard, we just did an episode talking about some of the most interesting history we learned on our summer travels.
Kellie visited two key sites in W.E.B. DuBois’s life, in Massachusetts and Ghana; Niki did research at important spaces in California and New York; and Jody traveled to Zanzibar to visit family and reflect on the mix of cultures and languages along the Swahili coast.
This was a fun episode, and we have a hunch that when you travel, you also pick up on some interesting history. So, let us know if there’s any esoteric history you learned about on your summer travels. You can respond right to this email, or submit a comment on our website. We’ll follow up with another special episode soon.
Jody’s Live Comedy Show, Ask Roulette, Is Back!
If you’re reading this from the NYC area, I’d love to see you on Wednesday, September 20th, 7pm at Caveat NYC for Ask Roulette. Ask Roulette is a live show I hosted for many years, in which strangers ask each other questions live on stage. It’s very fun, one of the best things I’ve ever done, and I’m so excited to bring it back.
On my personal newsletter, I wrote a bit about the history of the show and why I’m ready to do it again. Take a look below, or just snag your tickets and I’ll see you there!
